Mikaela Peterson is a 17 year old young lady who grew up on an organic farm in southern SK at Bengough. She has been raised to do her part to care for our environment. She believes if everyone does their share we can all make a huge impact on our society and environment! Mikaela was a member of the Do It With Class drama company in Regina. This involves sharing the stage at The Conexus Arts Center in Regina for many performances each year. She has a deep seeded love of the theater and dance, competing in ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, and lyrical. Her energetic, enthusiastic personality can be seen while playing volleyball, basketball and participating in track.
Mikaela shares her energy by volunteering in Relay for Life, Heart and Stroke Big Bike Ride, and the Gateway Festival. Volunteering in this local festival assists our small community to keep our park, rink and businesses alive. She has worked in yearbook and Peer Support groups at her school. A passion for performing has led her to modeling for the last year. This combines a love for cosmetology and her interest in exploring organic mineral makeup!
Mikaela was crowned Miss Teen Saskatchewan Galaxy in Saskatoon in May 2010. From there she competed in Ottawa for the national title. She was crowned Miss Teen Canaa Galaxy 2011. Internationals take place in Michigan in July 2011.
As a young lady of Canada, Mikaela hopes to be a role model to other young women around the country. Opening up a new acceptance for being confident with who you are and accomplishing your goals and dreams!
